Books for the fourth standard
For Class 4 the listing shows seven NCERT titles, and the names repeat across the neighbouring primary classes, so check the class carefully before you open a file. The page frames the set as an activity-based syllabus that has replaced the older Class 4 books. Here is how the seven books divide the child’s week.
- Maths Mela, for mathematics, which works through numbers, fractions, spatial understanding and logic puzzles using ordinary scenes from daily life.
- Santoor, the English book, with stories, poems and grammar exercises to build vocabulary and confident speaking.
- Veena, the Hindi book, centred on reading fluency, writing and grammar through stories and literature.
- Our Wondrous World, for environmental studies, mixing basic science, community life and sustainable habits.
- Bansuri, Khel Yoga and Sitaar, for art, physical education and Urdu respectively.

Who it helps
Families supporting a child in Class 4, teachers planning term activities, and tutors who need the right edition to hand. It also suits parents comparing the new books with a sibling’s earlier ones. This is a foundation stage, so no competitive exam depends on it directly.
How to make it useful
Set a weekly rhythm: two Maths Mela sessions with games, two language sessions split between Santoor and Veena, one nature-based Our Wondrous World task, and one creative session. Ask the child to explain what they did in their own words; this builds the same skills the books target.
Edition note and downloads
The page says these are updated editions released following NEP 2020, and links to ZIP bundles for the four core subjects. Because Bansuri weighs well over 100 MB, download over Wi-Fi. After saving, extract the ZIP to see chapter-wise PDFs.
Reading the table above
The sizes shown are rounded from the source page and give a rough idea of storage needed; the full Class 4 set is well over 400 MB. If space is tight, download Maths Mela and Santoor first and add the rest during the term.
Printed material
Primary children usually learn better from a printed copy they can draw in. Competer carries printed school-level material, and bookshops stock the NCERT print editions.
