What is inside

Polity is one of the most scoring areas in the UPSC preliminary paper, and Vision IAS devotes a separate PT 365 booklet to it every year. This page holds four of those yearly editions, so a student can read the changes in constitutional and governance debates across several years in one place.

Edition by edition

Edition Pages Approx. size
Polity 2022 59 5.8 MB
Polity 2023 57 8.0 MB
Polity 2024 73 3.9 MB
Polity 2025 64 4.7 MB

How to read across years

Start with the most recent edition because its topics are fresh, then move backwards. When a theme such as federal relations, judicial appointments, electoral reform or legislative procedure recurs, put the strands together on one sheet. Recurring themes tell you what the examiner is likely to revisit, and a multi-year view helps you separate lasting constitutional questions from one-time news.

  • Underline every constitutional article or amendment that is mentioned.
  • Record landmark court judgments with the principle they set.
  • Keep a separate list of bills and the stage they reached when the edition was written.

Who it is for

Prelims candidates who already know the basics from a standard polity textbook will gain the most. Mains aspirants can also use the booklets for fresh examples in General Studies Paper 2 answers.

Syllabus mapping

The content supports the polity and governance part of the prelims and General Studies Paper 2 in the mains, including topics like the Constitution, Parliament, the judiciary, local government and rights issues.

Questions to bring to each edition

Before opening an edition, ask what changed in the constitutional conversation that year: a new bill, a major bench ruling, a debate on federal powers, or a reform of a commission. After reading, test yourself by writing one line for each. Doing this for all four editions reveals which controversies faded and which kept returning, a pattern that is helpful for guessing the kind of themes that may reappear in future papers.
